Current Role
Product Manager - Vice President at Goldman Sachs
I am currently a Product Manager and Vice President at Goldman Sachs. I am responsible for a variety of strategic initiatives in order to drive profitability, create new opportunities and broaden our current business. This includes marketing, distribution and support of Goldman’s money market funds as well as product development for new funds and strategies.
In addition, I also work extensively on competitive analysis for our portfolio managers and sales teams, monitoring the market and identifying any changes or shifts as they happen. In my current role, I have the opportunity to work on many of the ‘big picture’ strategies and initiatives as the market environment continually shifts. But I am also relentlessly focused on the details. We’ve recently launched an entire rebranding of our group and marketing materials along with expanded data and reporting. I’ve helped guide this effort from a product perspective, ensuring consistency and clarity for our teams as well as our ultimate clients. I’ve also made sure that none of the details are overlooked – proofing our new language and ensuring the data we’re presenting is perfectly accurate. Despite forcing several revisions, I’ve made sure we’ve got all the details right before we go live. Want to know more? Check out my LinkedIn profile. |
Some Previous Roles
Assistant Manager of Personnel - Open Access Labs at BYU
I had the incredible opportunity to work as the Assistant Manager of Personnel for the computer labs at BYU. It was my privilege to work with some of the most intelligent, driven people out there. From other managers, to developers, to lab employees, this was a great group.
My responsibilities were wide-ranging, including overseeing all personnel areas of the labs - hiring, scheduling, discipline, etc. I also worked on a variety of projects to help improve the labs overall. When I first came into the position, there were a few issues that needed addressing. Structurally, the organization struggled to get people to move into supervisor roles. The incentives and culture were such that taking on more responsibility was viewed as a negative. I was able to realign the incentives, making it more desirable for employees to move steadily up the ladder. The cultural aspect took a little more time, but we continued to instill that in our employees. Within a short time, we had far more applicants for advancement than we had positions. |
Analyst - Funding Universe
While still in school, I had the opportunity to work for Funding Universe. Here, I analyzed and created business plans for young companies seeking funding through angel investors. I also worked with CEOs and management teams to develop company strategies and plans, helping to prepare key management to meet investors and present their businesses.
